Facts and Figures
Our community does not exist in a pastoral setting with more cows than people. It's been fully built-out for well over 60 years. The state regards a county with 200,000 people as being "urbanized". Sacramento County has 1,600,000 people, with more than 600,000 of them in the unincorporated UnCity. In round figures, Arden Arcade has 100,000 people packed in at 6000 people per square mile. Carmichael has 82,000 people at 5000 people per square mile. Together, Arden Arcade and Carmichael have more residents than 29 of California's 58 counties. In 2009, when told the community remained unincorporated as though it was still a rural area, a person who grew up in Arden Arcade and moved away in the 1970s said, "That's ridiculous. It's old, it's established and they sell cars." The pages below provide some data-driven reality checks.
